An energy audit
was carried out in a leading food products company, on request.
The saving potential of the recommendation is 1 90 000 kWh,
releasing an energy saving of Rs.1 600 000.
A similar energy audit is being planned for the Teaching
Hospital at Ragama. The ECF’s opinion is that the hospital
can save as much as Rs. 3 million worth of energy annually.
An analysis was carried out in variable speed drives in the
Tea Research Institute, Thalawakele. It was observed that,
22% - 27% saving has been achieved through this.
