Exhibitions

The use of exhibitions as a channel for making awareness among school children and the general public had a significant improvement in the year 2003 with contributions from the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority for 11 educational and trade exhibitions. Over two hundred thousand visitors were reported at each exhibition with the Yuga Dekma exhibition held in Matara and the Techno Lanka exhibition held in Kandy being very successful events. The Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority was involved in awareness programs on the significance of wood gasification and dendro thermal projects at these exhibitions.

Promotion of energy efficient equipment was the main theme in these exhibitions and it was supported by activities under energy labeling and efficient wood / gas stoves for domestic use. The main attractions at these exhibitions were the fuel saving domestic stoves, low energy consuming lighting systems and technologies to reduce electricity bills. In addition to the exhibitions, the ECF participated in 5 Mobile Service programs promoting energy conservation techniques among the public.
