| |
| Vidulka Energy Week 2011 is organised by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Power and Energy. It’s a national annual exhibition. It aims at: |

| 01. National Energy Award Scheme |
| |
| This Award Scheme recognises organisations that achieve substantial savings through the implementation of energy efficiency practices within their establishments. Awards are presented to organisations in the service sector, manufacturing sector and healthcare.
Awards will also be presented to honour the efforts and contribution of the Energy Services Companies (ESCOs) in promoting conservation of energy and to recognise individuals who have advanced, and expanded access to power and energy in Sri Lanka promoting the use of innovative approaches related to energy. |

| 02. Energy Exhibition |
| |
| The exhibition will include more than 100 commercial and institutional stalls, giving a wide coverage on energy information, technologies, products, services...etc. The stalls will cater to the needs different groups and will provide opportunity for networking. The exhibition will also be a unique opportunity for energy efficient product dealers to educate the general public on their products. Further, a special emphasis will be given to provide quality products at a reasonable/affordable price to the general public.The exhibition targets school students, engineers, technocrats, industrialists, architects, investors, policy makers and the general public. |

| 03. Energy Symposium |
| |
| The National Energy Symposium is organised as a part of the Vidulka Energy Week. The thematic areas of the symposium include:
Energy efficiency, conservation and management
National energy security
Green buildings
Renewable energy technologies, opportunities and frontiers
Rural energy applications
Industrial energy |
| |
| The Symposium will be conducted in parallel to the exhibition, covering three key areas. |
| |
| (a) Future Energy Managers |
| This will provide opportunity for school students to present innovative ideas on energy conservation and details of the successful projects they have carried out in school. |

| |
| (b) An Energy Conscious Nation |
| Case studies would be presented on energy efficiency improvement activities carried out by ESCOs, role and experience of investors and research work of university academic/ senior researchers. |
|
| |
| (c) A Greener Sri Lanka |
| Resource development including best practices projects, Geographical Information System (GIS) applications in renewable energy (RE), experiences and role of project developers, funding experiences and investors in developing RE, etc. will be covered in the related sessions. |

| VISITOR PROFILE |
| |
Vidulka Energy Week expects a great variation in its audience, ranging from investors, industrialists, engineers, architects, policy makers, school students and general public. The following chart depicts the visitor profile of Vidulka Energy Week 2010. The stalls were a main attraction to the student population and general public, which accounted for 50%. |

| Vidulka Energy Week 2011 expects a larger representation of foreign participants due to the increased regional involvement this season. |
| |
| What do they look for? |
| A random survey conducted during Vidulka Energy Week 2010 indicates that electricity services access points, technology exhibits and knowledge on energy conservation including ‘how to reduce your energy bills’ were the most sought after items. These three items were sought by all visitors (100%). Energy efficient appliances were the second highest sought after item, with a score of 70% of visitors. The following chart summarises the survey results. |
